Paul Soldner and American Raku

Hello everyone! We at the Victoria Myhren Gallery have been quite busy this winter break getting ready for an exciting winter quarter of events. The next show, a retrospective on American master ceramicist Paul Soldner, opens Thursday January 8 from 5-8pm and we are installing it this week. The first event associated with the show is an American Raku workshop on Friday, Jan 9 from 12-4 led by SAAH prof Mia Mulvey and local Raku master Bob Smith. Bob will be working with Robert LeDonne and Lorri Acott-Fowler, also local ceramicists, to showcase the variety of works that can be created using the Raku technique pioneered in America by Paul Soldner. If you are interested in participating, please see the Gallery website at http://www.du.edu/art/galleries/myhren/exhibitions/exhibitions.htm

Sounds so great, wish I could see the show!!! I’m working on a “What is Raku” page for my blog, of course mentioning Soldner…
Will you have more photos of the show up?
    Good luck and have fun!
