Visual Trips: The Psychedelic Poster Movement in San Francisco

October 2 – November 16, 2014

The exhibition makes major contributions to the understanding of how artists defined the visual component of the psychedelic scene from 1965 to 1971. Drawing on exceptional collections of original material, including newly discovered original drawings, photographs, mechanical drawings and acetate sheets, the exhibition is among the first to thoroughly explore the artistic technique of iconic concert posters and flyers. Stanley Mouse, Rick Griffin, Victor Moscoso, Bonnie McClean and Wes Wilson are among the leading artists featured. The exhibition concludes the Vicki Myhren Gallery’s series of special programs celebrating the Sesquicentennial of the University of Denver.
