Through collaborative programs and dynamic exhibitions, the VMG encourages the interplay of artistic expression with student learning and serves as a multidisciplinary space for conversation, community, co-creation, performance, and practice of the arts.

Winter Recess Hours

The Vicki Myhren Gallery is closed over winter break.

The Davis Gallery will be open over DU’s winter recess. From December 11 through December 23, the Davis Gallery will be open 10 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday. We are also available by appointment.

By Grace Monteith, Graduate Class of 2027 By the time Edward Marecak became a DU alumnus – receiving his teaching certificatefrom the university in 1955 – he had already established a prominent artistic career andeducational history. Born to immigrant parents from Slovakia, Marecak grew up nearCleveland, Ohio, before spending much of his adult life and creative career in Colorado.Marecak studied on a full scholarship at the Cleveland Institute of Art until he was draftedinto the military.
