VMG is excited to host Jiangmei Wu, featured MASK artist and the creator of the Fold-A- Facemask technique that’s garnered international attention. Join us for a workshop on November 11th, at 1 PM on Zoom! 

Jiangmei Wu sprang into action when the COVID – 19 pandemic took hold. The artist and Indiana University Bloomington professor developed a technique using the art of origami that allowed others to easily create a folded mask using affordable materials. What started as a small project has turned into a mammoth initiative, with multiple types of masks to fit differently shaped faces. The artist has even recently developed a technique to create origami boxes to store masks in! Wu is currently looking to scale up the production of her masks and is seeing how AI can help future mask makers identify which of her designs best suit their unique visages and needs. The beauty of Wu’s fantastic work lies in its functionality.
