Alumni Show Opens September 30

The Myhren Gallery opens the 2010-2011 school year with its triennial Juried Alumni Exhibition. The exhibition’s mission is to identify and bring together the many talented alumni of the University of Denver’s School of Art and Art History. As mentioned in previous posts, the exhibition will be featuring 19 alumni artists selected for inclusion by guest jurors. It promises to be an exciting and varied show! Also of note will be the works of 3 late alumni who will be presented in an adjoining gallery. Presented in memoriam will be artists Roy Klein, Peter Dulan, and Philip Perdew. Hello!

Hi blog readers! My name is Anna Estes, and I’m the new incoming Graduate Gallery Assistant at the Myhren Gallery. I’ll be periodically updating the blog and letting you all know of exciting upcoming events here at the gallery, around campus and in the community. 2010 Juried Alumni Exhibition

The Victoria H. Myhren Gallery opens the season with two concurrent exhibitions, both of which will be on view during the gala opening of the adjacent Nagel Art Studios on October 19. The triennial Juried Alumni Exhibition is designed to help identify and bring together the many alumni of the University of Denver’s School of Art & Art History. Artists Selected for 2010 Alumni Exhibition

Thank you to our jurors, Nora Burnett Abrams and Linny Frickman, for selecting 19 fabulous artists for our 2010 Alumni Exhibition.  A second thank you to all participating alumni! We were all impressed by this year’s alumni submissions and it was a difficult choice.
