Together, the two discuss the influences of the Zoot suit’s history, pop culture, and lived experiences on the Texas-Mexico border have had on Michie’s practices in painting and sculpture. Michie’s work is currently featured at the Vicki Myhren Gallery as part of the exhibition Young, Gifted, and Black: The Lumpkin-Boccuzzi Collection of Contemporary Art, on view through April 30.

Exhibition Opening Reception Parking Directions

We’re so excited to have you join us for an opening reception! Vicki Myhren Gallery uses the university parking complex on Asbury Avenue, Lot L, for reception guests. To park, simply pull up to the Asbury Street entrance of Lot L and tell the attendant on duty you are here for the exhibition reception. The attendant will then scan you into the garage.
