SUMMARY:Curator Tour: "A System In Place"
DESCRIPTION:In Dialogue with Ramón Bonilla\n\n\n\nJoin curator and artist Ramón Bonilla on a tour of A System In Place: In Dialogue with Sol LeWitt\, on view at the Vicki Myhren Gallery through November 20. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nClick here to Register here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRamón Bonilla is an artist and curator born in San Juan\, Puerto Rico\, who currently lives and works in New York. Working through geometry and reduction\, Bonilla’s artwork is conceived through accumulated observation\, thinking\, and making do. His wall drawings extend this approach into physical space\, beginning with a grid and then working against it until something else emerges. For Bonilla\, working with found\, repurposed\, or available materials rather than purpose-built ones is not just a formal choice; it mirrors a reality of working with what you have\, when you have time. \n\n\n\nHis piece Ordinary Magic––currently on view at the Vicki Myhren Gallery––exemplifies this approach by incorporating materials found outside while walking during a lunch break. The installation process began with a neat and orderly grid on the wall and through creative reductions and additions\, resulted in a complex and dynamic construction. \n\n\n\nRamón Bonilla\, Ordinary Magic: Walk Outside During Lunch Break and Pick Up Stuff from the Ground\, 2026. Photo by Wes Magyar.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFree parking will be available in Lot L across the street from the gallery. Attendants will be at the lot from 3:30 to 4:30 PM. \n\n\n\n\nClick here for parking information & Directions

SUMMARY:Exhibition: Shelter in Place\, Shelter in Space
DESCRIPTION:In a world shaped by environmental crises\, political upheaval\, and uncertain futures\, what does it mean to seek shelter? Shelter in Place\, Shelter in Space brings together contemporary artists who explore the tensions between staying and leaving\, protection and escape\, survival and transformation. Through sculpture\, painting\, film\, and installation\, the exhibition considers how individuals and communities respond to instability and what they choose to preserve\, carry forward\, or reimagine. Moving between lived realities and speculative futures\, Shelter in Place asks how memory\, creativity\, and collective care can help us navigate an uncertain world and imagine new possibilities for living together.  \n\n\n\nFeaturing work by Larry Achiampong\, Chris Bagley\, Beatriz Cortez\, Chitra Ganesh\, David Huffman\, Dario Robleto\, Cauleen Smith\, and Anna Tsouhlarakis. \n\n\n\nCurated by Geoffrey Shamos \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the opening reception on Thursday\, January 14\, 2027 from 5-7 PM. \n\n\n\n\nOpening reception event information
