This exhibition examines a classic theme in art history: the Still Life, exploring how contemporary artists are examining the practice through strategies as diverse as reverence, critical inversion, and hyperrealist painting. Still life is consumption portrayed as the delights of material pleasures, or the horror, ephemerality, and brevity of (human) life. This exhibition particularly explores the visceral nature of beauty and rot. In addition to work from our University Art collection, the exhibition displays work from national and regional artists.
